DNA polymerase caught in the act of polymerizing!
DNA contains all genetic information required for living organisms. How that genetic information is maintained and propagated requires a fascinating set of machinery; in prokaryotes, the workhorse responsible for this is DNA polymerase III holoenzyme. Here the enzyme is depicted along with an incoming nucleotide to be introduced into the newly synthesized, nascent strand.
